To the stated height you should add about 6" for that part of the concrete slab you want above grade, or 14" if you are going to build it with a wooden floor.

FREE MATERIAL LISTS

MATERIAL COST $9.75 per sq. ft.- The average cost of materials to build one these Vermont sheds in the northeastern United States is about $9.75 per sq. ft. This is a very average cost, which can easily vary by about 25% or more depending on the actual location, current pricing, size, options and site conditions. A comprehensive materials list comes with all our plans. Or download a free list from above and find out what it will cost in your area.

FOUNDATION Concrete pad- This type of construction is well suited for very large sheds where heavy loads such as bigger garden tractors can be stored. For other options contact our customer service.
Skid Foundation- This type of construction is well suited for large sheds where heavy loads such as . garden tractors or lawn mowers etc can be stored. It is very easy to build this way.

WALLS Fun and easy to build using standard 2" X 4" studs at 16" on center. Will accommodate interior wall sheeting, optional household type of  insulation, plumbing and electrical wiring. Walls are very well suited to support heavy shelving and cabinets

WALL HEIGHT Standard 8'-1" height using very handy 92 1/2" precut studs. See "Wall Framing," section 5 of our free construction guide for more details on this.

ROOF PITCH Rise 12" /  Run 6" - For the lower rafters
Rise 6" /  Run 12" - For the upper rafters This gives this shed it's appealing looks and extra storage in the attic.

ROOF OVERHANG Uniform 6" overhang on the front, back and sides.

SNOW LOAD 38 lbs. per sq. ft. This is ample for almost all areas. Your local building department can advise you on the snow load in your area. Contact our customer service if you need to increase this rating.

ROOFING Three tab self-sealing asphalt tape shingles are called for on the plans. You can however use any type of roofing materials.

 LIVE FLOOR LOAD Concrete pad - Undetermined, good for very heavy loads.
Skid Foundation - Approximate, 40 lbs. per sq. ft. good for medium to heavy loads.

ATTIC FLOOR LOAD 2X8 JOISTS - Approximate, 40 lbs. per sq. ft. good for light loads.

DOORS  Side doors- 72" X 80" Prehung inexpensive store bought factory made very easy to install. Nothing complex to build.
Front doors 32" X 80" Prehung inexpensive store bought factory made very easy to install. Nothing complex to build.

GARAGE DOORS Roll or swing up garage doors are an option for this shed plan. They are store bought factory made easy to install. For more details on this and other items please see section 8 of our Free Construction Guide 

WINDOW 30" X 53"

MOVING WINDOWS The windows can be moved within the same wall in this plan without affecting the structure.

SIDING We recommend vinyl as the very best material to cover your new shed with because it’s fun and easy to install, maintenance free comes in a host of colors and patterns that you can choose from and it’s inexpensive to buy. You can of course use any kind of siding.

ATTIC SPACE Approximately 61" high at the peek.
